El semifreddo or semifreddo, as it is known in Italy, it is a semi-frozen cold dessert. An ideal dessert for this time of year in whose preparation we will not invest much time. A strawberry puree and whipped cream are enough to achieve a result like the one in the image.
You do not need a refrigerator to make it, nor should it be whipped like ice cream every so often to achieve a creamy result. The semi-cold is kept in the freezer and is removed 10 minutes before serving it either as a dessert or as a snack. Try doing it with others berries: blackberries, raspberries ... you will like it!
- 4 (cups of strawberries + extra to decorate
- ¼ cup of sugar
- 3 tablespoons of Grand Marnier
- 1 cup of cream 35% mg
- We line the inside of a loaf pan or elongated sponge cake with plastic wrap, leaving enough paper hanging over the top to cover the surface later.
- In a kitchen robot we mash the strawberries with the sugar and the liquor until obtaining a puree. We reserved a cup of mash.
- In another bowl we whip the cream. When it is assembled, we take it to the bowl of puree and integrate both mixtures. We do it with a silicone spatula and soft and enveloping movements.
- we pour the mixture in the loaf pan, smooth the surface and cover with the plastic wrap.
- We take to the freezer a minimum of three hours; I usually leave it overnight.
- Minutes before serving, we turn the mold into a source and we carefully remove the plastic.
- We cut into thick slices, decorate with strawberries and serve immediately with the remaining cup of puree.
Hello! I just discovered this website through Twitter and I must congratulate you because you put recipes that are not complicated and very rich. But I have a question ... the CUP measure how much is equivalent in grams?
Thank you and continue this good for a long time.
