The semifrío or semifreddo is a cold or semi-frozen Italian dessert, perfect to serve in summer. Today we prepare it from strawberries.

Ingredients
  • 4 (cups of strawberries + extra to decorate
  • ¼ cup of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of Grand Marnier
  • 1 cup of cream 35% mg
Preparation
  1. We line the inside of a loaf pan or elongated sponge cake with plastic wrap, leaving enough paper hanging over the top to cover the surface later.
  2. In a kitchen robot we mash the strawberries with the sugar and the liquor until obtaining a puree. We reserved a cup of mash.
  3. In another bowl we whip the cream. When it is assembled, we take it to the bowl of puree and integrate both mixtures. We do it with a silicone spatula and soft and enveloping movements.
  4. we pour the mixture in the loaf pan, smooth the surface and cover with the plastic wrap.
  5. We take to the freezer a minimum of three hours; I usually leave it overnight.
  6. Minutes before serving, we turn the mold into a source and we carefully remove the plastic.
  7. We cut into thick slices,decorate with strawberries and serve immediately with the remaining cup of puree.
