Honey and walnut cake

We ended the weekend preparing a honey and walnut cake, simple and fast. You can do it in the morning and have it ready for snack time. Cut into small portions, as shown in the main image, it is ideal to accompany coffee or tea in the afternoon.

It is not the first time that we prepare a honey cake. This is, however, faster than the one we prepared two years ago, how time flies! You will only need one square or rectangular mold suitable for the oven and a mixer to prepare it. An advice? Invest in a quality honey.

Ingredients
  • 115 g. Of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of chemical yeast
  • ⅓ teaspoon of salt
  • 55 g. softened butter
  • 100 g. brown sugar
  • 100 ml. heather honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup walnuts

Preparation
  1. We preheat the oven to 180ºC
  2. We line a mold 20 × 20 cm. with baking paper.
  3. In a bowl we mix the flour, yeast and salt. We booked.
  4. In other, we beat the butter, sugar and honey until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
  5. Then, We incorporate the egg and vanilla and beat again.
  6. Then we add the flour little by little and stir with smooth movements until it is integrated.
  7. Lastly, we add the walnuts and we mix.
  8. We pour the dough into the mold and bake for 30 minutes, approximately.
  9. We let it cool to unmold and then we cut into portions.
  10. We serve with coffee or tea.
