Today I wanted to bring you a very traditional stew of the old spoon. It is a delicious chickpea stew with chorizo to warm up a little the body that is still scratching. These stews give a lot of energy, which is why they are often converted into food for athletes such as mountaineers and climbers.
Of the chickpeas It has always been said that they are fattening, however, they are a very complete food whose nutrients can be of great help for those of us who perform physical activity, as well as for those who wish to have a healthy and balanced diet.
- 500 g of chickpeas.
- 1 onion.
- 1 green pepper
- 1 tomato.
- 3 garlic cloves.
- Olive oil.
- Black peppercorns.
- 2 medium potatoes.
This chickpea stew recipe is very typical and easy to make. Formerly, they were made as lunches in the field work days, so that workers could warm up their bodies in cold times and, in addition, fill them with energy.
The first thing we have to do to make this recipe is to put the chickpeas soak, so that they are not hard when cooking them.
Firstly, we will wash the chickpeas under the water tap to remove any impurities or bugs and remove chickpeas that are black or of a strange color.
Then we put them in a Express pot Together with the other raw and whole ingredients, we only remove the skin and the seeds from the pepper. We will cover everything with water, we will add the chorizo, the salt and pepper in grains and the oil. We will close the pot and count one hour after the steam has come out of the valve.
When that hour has passed, we will open the pot (be careful, wait a bit until all the steam has been removed), we will remove all the vegetables, except the garlic, and the we will beat in a mixer. Then, we will pour this mash back into the pot and boil for 5 more minutes so that it takes more flavor from the ingredients.
Finally, serve in deep plates and for each diner, 2 pieces of chorizo would correspond. I hope you like this delicious chickpea stew with chorizo.
