Tuna and Cheese Stuffed Buns: We're Going on a Field Trip!
Now that the little ones start school, it is quite likely that at some point they will come home saying that they will soon go to school. excursion and that they should prepare breakfast or lunch for the trip. This means that they should bring something that they like so that they eat well, but also that it is easy to eat and, above all, that it stains as little as possible ...
Stuffed buns are a good option in these cases. As they are not open, the filling of the bread will not fall, no matter how much they run around or play with friends. This time I present them with tuna and cheese, but you can vary the filling to suit your little one.
Ingredients
- 250 gr. Of flour
- 175 ml water
- 20 gr. of butter
- 5 gr. of salt
- 10 gr. sugar
- 10 gr. baker's yeast (fresh, pressed)
For the filling
- 1 can of tuna
- 2 thick slices of Gouda cheese
Crafting
The first thing we are going to do is mix the flour with the salt, sugar and yeast. In my case, the bread yeast was dry and it was not necessary to do anything to it, but if the one you have is fresh it will be necessary to dilute it in a little water before mixing it with the flour.
When we have these ingredients mixed we will make a hole in the center of the flour and add the water little by little until we get a dough that does not stick to the fingers. Finally we add the butter and continue kneading. You have to knead well by pressing with your knuckles, fold the dough, press again with your knuckles and so on for five minutes. When it is ready, we form two balls and let them rest for ten minutes, covered with a clean cloth.
When the dough has rested, we will stretch each bun, fill it with half a can of tuna and a slice of cheese. We close well and make three diagonal cuts. Prepare the oven tray with baking paper, place our rolls and bake them for 20-30 minutes at 180ºC.
