When the weekend comes I always find a moment to bake some candy. I find great satisfaction in doing so; Even when the result is not as expected, enjoying that moment of "solitude" in the kitchen as well as the diversity of aromas that flood it is worth it.
And for aromas, those that it gives off when this is baked delicious pear cake, walnuts and cinnamon. A very juicy cake, slightly moist in the center, in which the pears fall apart, the walnuts add a touch of crunch and the cinnamon, a wonderful aroma. Ingredients
- 56 grams of butter at room temperature
- 142 grams of brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence
- 1 large egg
- 120 grams of pastry flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 / 4 teaspoon salt
- 50 grams of chopped walnuts
- 120 ml. buttermilk (you can make it on the handle)
- 2 pears
- 1 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar + 1/2 cinnamon
Crafting
Pre-heat the oven at 205 degrees and grease a 20-22 cm mold. With butter.
Beat the butter and brown sugar in a bowl until smooth. smooth and creamy blend. Then add the vanilla and the egg and continue beating until combined.
In another bowl, Mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Add this mixture to the previous one in 3 parts, alternating this with the buttermilk; Help yourself with a wooden spoon for this.
Next, add half of the chopped walnuts and stir the mixture.
Pour the mixture into the greased mold. Peel and cut the pears into slices and place them on the dough-do it in an orderly way so that they are well distributed.
Finally, sprinkle with the mixture of sugar and cinnamon and the chopped nuts remaining.
Bake until the edges of the cake are golden brown, about 20-25 minutes. To check that it is ready, insert a toothpick; if it comes out clean around the edges and with some wet crumbs in the center, it will be time to turn off the oven.
Let it harden slightly, unmold and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For make buttermilk at home Pour 250 ml of warm milk into a bowl (you should put your finger in and not feel hot) with 15 ml. of lemon juice. Stir the mixture and let it sit for 10 minutes. After that time it will be ready to use. Do not be scared by its appearance, the milk is "cut" but that is what we are looking for.
