Yoghurt and vanilla mousse

Yoghurt and vanilla mousse

A mousse is an excellent dessert, especially during the hotter months when fresh from the fridge they are so refreshing. This yogurt and vanilla mousse It is one of the simplest we have prepared. Do not be scared because it requires two or three preparations, it will not take you more than 30 minutes.

If I like this mousse for something, it is because it is very smooth and very creamy. It becomes a great base on which to incorporate different seasonal fruits. At this time of year some chopped strawberries would make this fantastic dessert on its own, a round dessert, but you could also use banana or berries.

This time, since I wanted to adjust quantities, I have made the ideal quantity for two or three people, depending on whether you eat it alone or decide to accompany it with something, but just double the quantities to achieve a perfect dessert for six people. We encourage you to do it!

Ingredients
  • 2 creamy natural yogurts
  • 80 g. whipping cream
  • 1 sheet of gelatin
  • 1 egg white
  • 20 g. of sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla essence

Preparation
  1. We spread on the counter fine cotton cloth and we place on this and in the center the content of the yogurts. We close the cloth in the form of a bundle and hang it over the sink for 20 minutes so that part of the whey drains out, pressing lightly with our hands at the end of the process.
  2. Meanwhile, we mount 60 grams of cream in a bowl that we will reserve later in the fridge.
  3. We also take advantage of whip the egg white with the sugar in another slightly larger bowl. And once done we reserve.
  4. We also put hydrate gelatin sheet in cold water for 10 minutes.
  5. After 10 minutes, heat the remaining 20 g bouquets of cream in a saucepan or in a bowl and heat them, enough so that when pouring the drained gelatin into the cream it dissolves by stirring the mixture slightly.
  6. Then mix the yogurt in a bowl, already drained, with the warm vanilla and cream with the gelatin.
  7. Then add it to the bowl with the face assembled and we mix with enveloping movements.
  8. Finally, add the cream and we proceed in the same way.
  9. We distribute the mixture in two or three small glasses, cover them with plastic wrap and put them in the fridge for a couple of hours.
  10. We serve the yogurt and vanilla mousse alone or with seasonal fruit.
