Cherry and rum syrup

Cherry and rum syrup

Cherry and rum syrup

This syrup is perfect to accompany your favorite desserts or cakes. In addition, the result of the combination of rum and cherries is spectacular!

Why use it? We mostly use it to "get drunk" biscuits, but we can also make ice cream or it can even be perfect to "dip" our desserts. The color is impressive and the rum flavor is not strong so the final flavor is balanced. If you do not like rum, you can put any other liquor you have at home, it is not a very pronounced flavor either. If, for example, we substitute it for anise, it will greatly affect its flavor and we are not looking for that either.

Ingredients
  • 350 gr of cherries
  • 100 grams of rum
  • 100 g sugar

Preparation
  1. Remove the stone from the cherries, for this we can use a kitchen tool dedicated to it or do it in the most homemade way that is helping us with a straw. You can leave some boneless in case we want to use them to decorate desserts.
  2. Put the rum and sugar in a saucepan along with the cherries.
  3. Cook for about 10 to 15 minutes over medium-low heat. And ready!
