An appropriate entry for summer days is this salad with melon and ham. The delicious combination of flavors of melon with ham is a very popular cold dish, many cooks tend to vary the way they cut melon, into slices, dices, balls and even puree. The same happens with ham that is presented in stretched slices, curlers or shavings. There are those who add other ingredients. In today's preparation I am going to suggest ingredients to accompany this famous duo and achieve a tasty and colorful salad.
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Ingredients (for three or four people)
- 1/2 medium melon
- 150 gr of Serrano ham, cut into thin slices.
- 1 bag of young shoots (can be green batavia, red batavia, lollo rosso lettuce, spinach, arugula)
- 10 sweet and sour pickles in vinegar
- pitted black olives
- Dehydrated cranberries
- salt, oil and balsamic vinegar
Preparation
We peel the melon, remove the seeds and cut it into medium cubes. We cut the pickles in the middle.
Then in a salad plate we make a bed with the young shoots, and we arrange the melon and the pickles.
We make curlers with the ham slices and place them in the spaces that were left between the melon cubes. Garnish with olives and blueberries.
Before serving, season with salt, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Great options, thanks
