Roasted melon with walnuts
I had never considered roast the melon, until I found it in a restaurant menu flavored with some herbs. If you like melon, this is a fantastic proposal to serve it in a different and original way that also admits numerous accompaniments.
The melon contains a large amount of water and has a very sweet taste. When roasted in the oven, it creates a very rich syrup that in itself makes a great accompaniment. But if you want to give a more complete appearance to the dessert, you can try with cream and walnuts or a scoop of ice cream.
Ingredients
Per serving:
- 1 piece of melon
- 1 branch of rosemary
- 1 branch of basil
- 1 spoon of sugar
- 2 butter nuts
- 2-3 walnuts
- Whipped cream
Crafting
Place the melon chunks (without peel) on a baking sheet. With the help of a skewer, make some holes in the melon and insert the aromatic herbs.
Sprinkle sugar over the melon and also place some butter nuts on it.
Bake at 190º for 20-30 minutes. Take it out of the oven.
Water the melon with its own syrup and top it with some walnuts with cream or a scoop of ice cream on the hottest days.
