Oatmeal and cocoa cookies with chocolate chips

Oatmeal and cocoa cookies with chocolate chips

Who doesn't like chocolate cookies? There will be someone who doesn't like them, I'm not saying no, but in most homes they tend to disappear quickly. These, little resemble the commercial ones but they are still some oatmeal and cocoa cookies with very rich chocolate chips.

The interesting thing about these cookies is that they do not have added sugar. The sweetness is achieved by adding date paste to the dough, or what is the same, hydrated dates first and crushed later. It is what will take you the longest, the rest will be sewing and singing, I assure you!

These cookies are a wonderful proposal for give us a sweet treat occasionally. They could be prepared without chocolate chips, just adding cocoa to the dough, but once we were at home we didn't want to give up anything. And you? Do you think to prepare them?

If you are already used to sweets with oatmeal, you will like them. Butter plays an important role. In any case, you could try to replace it with oil -I have not tried it- but you would be in the same situation.
