I love to dine pizza on fridays. I usually buy the bases and incorporate ingredients that I find both in my pantry and in my fridge. There are times, however, that I go to the comfortable and buy them at the supermarket. One and the other have little or nothing to do with it, but a dinner with friends saves you in the same way.
The pizza mushrooms and peppers that we prepare today is prepared on a pita bread base. It will not take long to make it or you will stain many pots for it, go ahead! And if you don't have any ingredient, substitute it for another; trying and trying one finds really interesting combinations.
- 2 pita breads
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 red bell pepper, minced
- 1 cup of chopped mushrooms
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1½ cups mozarella cheese
- Pre-heat the oven to 200ºC and cover the baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a frying pan, heat the oil and sauté the onion and bell pepper until slightly tender.
- Add the mushrooms and a pinch of garlic powder and cook for a few minutes, stirring from time to time.
- Place the pita breads on the baking sheet and cover with sauce.
- Place the well drained vegetables on top and finally the cheese.
- Bake 10 minutes until the pita bread is lightly browned.
