Today I propose a hake stuffed with ham in the oven, a good option to prepare a holiday or have guests, where we can look very good with this dish.

Hake is a white fish that stands out for its mild flavor and fine texture and if we add a good filling with good quality ingredients, the result of the recipe will be delicious.

  • A hake of 1,5 Kg.
  • 100 gr. Serrano ham
  • 2 cartons of liquid cream for cooking
  • a bit of milk
  • grated cheese, parmesan or whatever you like the most.
  • shawl
  • butter
  • To accompany:
  • a pot of green asparagus
  1. We ask the fishmonger to clean the hake, remove the bones and leave us both loins. We salt it a little, not much because it has ham and it already gives it flavor.
  2. We put a part of the loin in a baking dish and put the slices of ham on top, you can put the slices whole, in smaller pieces or in strips.
  3. On top we put the other hake loin. We booked.
  4. We turn on the oven to preheat to 180ºC
  5. In a saucepan we put the cream to heat, we add grated cheese, we taste it until we leave it to our taste of cheese, if it was too thick we would put a little milk and we taste salt, it should be like a cream.
  6. We will cover the hake with this cream, grated cheese and a few pieces of butter, we will put it in the oven for about 30-40 minutes, depending on how thick the hake is and the top part is well browned.
  7. All that remains is to prepare the accompaniment, I accompanied this hake with some grilled green asparagus.
  8. And ready!!!
