French toast with chocolate. It is torrijas time and these days of Easter cannot be missed, it is a very popular sweet that is prepared these days.

The traditional torrijas are prepared with bread from the previous day soaked in milk and egg, fried and coated in sugar and cinnamon. But nowadays they are prepared in many ways according to the tastes of each one. We can also use different breads, now they sell them special for French toast. This one that I have used for this recipe is sliced ​​bread, the one used to make sandwiches but the slice is a little thicker, they already sell it like this. This bread is better to make torrijas.

Ingredients
  • Sliced ​​bread or pan for torrijas
  • Milk
  • 2-3 eggs
  • Chocolate
  • Liquid cream or heavy cream
  • Sugar to coat
  • Sunflower oil for frying

Preparation
  1. We prepare everything for the torrijas. We put the warm milk in a bowl in another we beat the eggs.
  2. On the other hand we put a pan with plenty of sunflower oil to heat, we will put it over medium heat.
  3. We take the slices of bread, cut them in half.
  4. We pass the bread through the milk, let it soak for a few seconds in the milk, then we pass them through the egg and add them to the pan.
  5. We will brown them on both sides until they are ready. When we remove them, we will go to a source where we will have paper to absorb the excess oil.
  6. We will do them all and reserve.
  7. Now we prepare the chocolate, we will put it in a bowl suitable for the microwave with a splash of liquid cream. We will leave it until it is melted.
  8. We take the torrijas and we will go through the chocolate, I only covered them in half, they can be bathed whole or as you like.
  9. We will put them on a rack until the chocolate dries. The part that remains without chocolate can be put a little sugar.
  10. And they will be ready to eat !!!
