Sandwiches for snacks

Sandwiches for snacks

Did you know that the origin of 'sandwich' dates back to the eighteenth century? But it was not until 1927 when this word of English origin was added to our Spanish vocabulary. Here we also say sandwich but the most frequent and colloquial way is 'sandwich'. In United KingdomThe sandwich is an almost daily meal and unlike in Spain, much thicker bread is used there. Here, however, we use the mold to which we normally add some sausage, sliced cheese and rarely some vegetables such as onion or lettuce.

Still today we can find sandwiches of all kinds: with meat, vegetables, with cereal bread, with normal bread, sliced bread, with boiled egg, etc. Because we consider that it is a very healthy food (especially if it is made by ourselves at home and without any additive or preservative) and very quick and easy to make. Today we bring you a recipe for sandwiches for snacks (as you will see in the photo, there is only one, but it is because it was the only one that remained, the others were devoured by small hungry "beasts", so we give good faith that they are delicious and very appetizing especially for snacks).

Ingredients
  • 10 slices of sliced bread
  • Assorted sausage (salami, chorizo, cooked turkey ...)
  • 5 sliced cheese
  • 1 can of tuna in olive oil
  • 1 boiled egg
  • ½ fresh onion
  • 1 lettuce head

Preparation
  1. With the ingredients that we have previously told you, you can make the combinations of sandwiches that you prefer always depending on the taste of the children or adults who are going to taste them.
  2. In our case they were the following: 2 sandwiches had only sliced salami and cheese (like the one in the photograph); another had cooked turkey, sliced cheese, a slice of fresh onion, and a little lettuce; another was tuna (to which we previously drained the oil), a slice of cheese and a little lettuce, and the last had chorizo, a couple of slices of boiled egg, onion and sliced cheese.
  3. We have to add that as we had a sandwich makerWe passed them through it for a while each of them so that they would eat it hot and the cheese would melt. If you don't have, you can do the same with a frying pan: round and round, and voila!
  4. As we said, everything will depend on the taste of each one. Enjoy it and have a happy snack!
