Beer stewed chicken

Chicken to the beer

Today I bring you this simple recipe for stewed chicken, with a special touch that beer brings. It is a very easy dish to prepare but that offers a spectacular result. Do not worry about the alcohol in the beer, since even if the children are not going to drink, it evaporates when cooked and does not carry any risk.

Once you try this fabulous recipe, you can vary with the type of beer. I have used a typical lager, but to give it a more original touch, you can use some more roasted beer and even dark beer. Any variety can bring a unique flavor to this chicken dish. Accompany it with a lamb's lettuce and pomegranate salad, an ideal mix of flavors.

Ingredients
  • 1 chopped chicken, preferably free-range chicken
  • 1 cebolla
  • half a red pepper
  • Carrots 2
  • 2 garlic
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • shawl
  • flour

Preparation
  1. To start we have to wash the chicken under the cold water stream, dry well with absorbent paper.
  2. We salt the chicken on all sides and prepare a casserole with the bottom over the fire.
  3. We brown the chicken pieces for about 4 or 5 minutes, just to seal it well before cooking.
  4. When it is golden, we remove and reserve.
  5. While we are preparing the vegetables, cut the onion and red pepper into small cubes and the carrot and garlic into fixed slices.
  6. We fry the vegetables in the same oil that we use to brown the chicken.
  7. We lower the heat so that they cook without burning, about 10 minutes.
  8. After that time, we add a couple of tablespoons of flour to help bind the sauce.
  9. Add the chicken to the casserole and stir well.
  10. Add the entire can of beer, cover and lower the heat so that the chicken simmers.
  11. After about 15 minutes, add a glass of water so that the beer is not completely consumed, rectify the salt and cover again.
  12. The chicken will take about 45 minutes to cook, we have to check it from time to time to add water if necessary.
