Lemon mousse

I love mousse, whether it's chocolate, coffee or fruits. Refreshing and not heavyThese foams of French origin are an ideal dessert at this time of year if they are served cold. The lemon is one of the most refreshing, without a doubt.

The egg white whipped to the point of snow or the whipped cream, are the base of this spongy dessert. Very simple to make, this dessert is ideal for family celebrations, since it allows you to prepare it in advance and reserve it in the fridge. You can accompany the lemon mousse with the lemon peel itself or with some mint leaves.

Ingredients

For two people

  • 150 gr. condensed milk
  • 2 lemons
  • Egg whites 2
  • 3 gelatin sheets
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 glass of water

Crafting

We start by peeling one of the lemons with the help of a knife or peeler - we only need the yellow part. The cut into thin strips and we put it to boil in a saucepan with half a glass of water and 2 teaspoons of sugar for 5-6 minutes. While we squeeze the two lemons and reserve the juice.

We dilute the gelatin sheets in a bowl of water following the manufacturer's instructions, 5 to 9 minutes. Then we drain them and place them in a hot saucepan until they dissolve.

In a bowl we beat the condensed milk and the juice of the two lemons. We then add the diluted gelatin.

We separate in a bowl two egg whites and we assemble them with the help of a whisk. We add them to the rest of the ingredients, mixing gently, with enveloping movements.

Fill the molds with the mousse and introduce in the fridge until they are consistent, about 2 hours.

We present with the candied lemon peel on top and mint leaves (optional).
