Easy orange and cinnamon cake, for winter afternoons

Orange sponge cake

Today we are going to sweeten the afternoon a little with a recipe for easy cake no, very easy. It is the classic cake that, despite its simplicity, surprises you and you cannot stop eating, it brings back memories of my childhood, to those snacks with my friends accompanied by a good homemade sponge cake and a glass of warm milk. What more could you ask for? on a cold winter's day?

What I like the most about this cake is decorating it on the top. This time I made it a crust of sugar and cinnamon, but it perfectly admits any other variation such as almonds, a mixture of well-minced nuts or we can even leave it as is, without adding anything on top and it will also surprise you with its soft and fluffy texture. .

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • Yolks 3
  • 220 g sugar
  • 90 ml of aceite oliva
  • 1 yogurt
  • 220 flour
  • Medium sachet of chemical yeast
  • A pinch of salt
  • The juice of an orange

Crafting

The first thing we are going to do is turn on the oven so that it is preheated, then, in a bowl we are going to beat the egg, the three yolks and the sugar for two minutes, add the orange juice and beat for another minute. Add the yogurt and oil and beat again for a minute. We add the flour, the yeast and the pinch of salt, we beat again but only for a few seconds, just enough so that all the ingredients are integrated.

We grease our mold and add the mixture. For the sugar and cinnamon crust we will simply have to sprinkle the entire surface with sugar and cinnamon, finally, bake at 180ºC for approximately 35 minutes. When it is ready we will let it cool in the mold and serve.
