Do you remember when two weeks ago I shared with you the way of cook carrots naturally in the microwave? The recipe was presented to you as a great alternative to accompany different dishes. And the same goes for spiced roasted carrots that I propose today.
While those had a very natural flavor these they are generously spiced. Cinnamon is the spice that stands out the most; the one in charge of giving this garnish a very interesting exotic touch. Although it may seem strange to combine carrots and cinnamon, give it a try! The point is very subtle.
Carrots do not take long to cook in the oven, especially if you cut them into small sticks like I have done. This way you also get that carrot and onion are cooked in the same time. Because although the carrot is the protagonist, the onion together with the cinnamon add a sweet touch to the unique recipe.
The recipe
- 3-4 carrots
- ½ onion
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ⅕ teaspoon of cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- A splash of olive oil
- We wash the carrots and cut them into sticks.
- Then we peel and julienne the onion.
- We place both ingredients in an oven-safe source where the carrot fits well extended.
- Next we add the spices and a drizzle of olive oil and mix.
- Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake at 200 ° C for 25 minutes or until tender.
- We enjoy spiced carrots as a garnish for meat, fish, or vegetable proteins such as tofu or tempeh.
