Sesame cookies, for family baking afternoons
Where I live, the cold has already arrived, the rain, the afternoons at home baking cakes and cookies. I love this time! To start cold days, I have decided to bring you these very simple sesame cookies that always triumph at home, their flavor is intense, ideal to accompany a good glass of milk and snuggle under the blanket.
I understand that in Spain sesame seeds are not usually sold toasted, so at the end of the recipe I will tell you how you can toast them at home, it is very easy and it takes just a few minutes. And without any further talk, I leave you with the recipe. Enjoy it and enjoy yourself!
Table of Contents
Ingredients
- 50 gr of toasted sesame (30 gr will be used crushed and the remaining 20 gr will be used to decorate)
- 240 grams of butter
- 100 g sugar
- 240 gr de harina
Crafting
On the one hand, crush 30 grams of sesame seeds until they become a powder, you can use the mincer. On the other hand, work the butter until it has the same consistency as a cream. Add the sugar and beat vigorously (if you have electric rods, the better) until you get a smooth cream. Add the flour and sesame powder, beat again until all the ingredients are well integrated.
Roll into walnut-sized balls and place them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, well separated from each other. Decorate with the sesame seeds that you reserved and bake for 20 minutes at 180ºC. Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
If you can't find the sesame already roasted, you can roast it at home. You simply have to use a frying pan without oil, add the sesame seeds to cover the entire surface and toast it for a few minutes, being careful not to burn because then the taste will be very bitter.
