There are numerous ingredients that could be used to prepare a savory cake, but in this case we will opt for the zucchini as main ingredient, using the ham to give it a nuance of flavor and color. As ingredients they are both very easy to manipulate, so doing it will be very simple for you.
The only downside of this type of cakes and specifically their preparation is that they require at least 30 minutes in the oven. But what is half an hour? You can take advantage of this time to relax or make a simple and quick dessert to complete the menu. Yourself!
The recipe
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 cebolla
- 2 leeks
- 1 Zucchini
- 150 g. of ham cubes
- 3 eggs
- 75 gr. grated cheese
- 200 ml. liquid cream
- Sal Island
- Pepper
- We preheat the oven to 180ºC.
- Sauté the onion and leek chopped for five minutes in a pan with two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, .
- Then add the zucchini with skin and in small cubes and continue frying until the vegetables are soft.
- Then we move away from the fire and drain excess liquid.
- Place the drained vegetables in a bowl and add the ham the beaten eggs, the cream and the grated cheese. Season and mix.
- Next, we grease a mold or line with baking paper and pour the mixture.
- Bake for about 30 minutes or until the cake is curdled and remove from the oven.
- Let cool for 10 minutes and unmold carefully.
