Sausages are not usually cooked at home and when we do we like them to be fresh. They give us a lot of play; we can fry or braise them. Or combine both processes in the same recipe: sausages with caramelized onion baked. Sounds good right? Served in a casserole, they become a great option for dinner.
The ingredients will seem numerous, but that does not scare you. Sausages with caramelized onions are simple to prepare. The recipe requires, yes, dedicating some time to the kitchen. We must fry the sausages on one side and prepare the caramelized onion on the other. The rest is done by the oven.
- 8 pork sausages
- 2 onions
- 2 butter nuts
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 1 sprig of rosemary
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- ½ glass of red wine
- 200 ml of meat broth
- 1 handful of chopped parsley
- Sal Island
- Black pepper
- We preheat the oven to 180ºC.
- We fry the sausages in a frying pan with a drizzle of oil, salt and pepper. When they brown, we remove from the heat and reserve.
- We chop the onion and we put it to poach in a pan with the butter. When they have changed color, add the sugar and let them caramelize.
- We incorporate the rosemary and after giving it a few turns, we pour a splash of balsamic vinegar. Cook until the onion is well caramelized.
- Add the sausages to the pan and We irrigate with red wine and broth. Bring to a boil and cook 3-4 minutes. Afterwards, we take the pan to the oven.
- Cook in the oven for approximately 15-20 minutes.
- We serve hot.
