Sausages in puff pastry raincoats
This recipe can be both a appetizer as a good fun dinner for babies. All kids love sausage, whether it's fried in a sandwich, cooked in a hot dog, or just sautéed in a good sausage and eggplant musaka like we did the other day.
Sausages have an old myth that they are fattening, high in fat, high in cholesterol, but for most rumors and myths are to be ignored. The frankfurter type sausages have a lot of water and less fat than any other meat derivative product.
Ingredients
- Fat sausages stuffed with cheese.
- Puff pastry plate.
- I beaten egg.
Preparation
The sausages that I have chosen are only 1 package of those that are stuffed with cheese, you can choose any type of sausage. In the butchers they sell small ones that would be perfect for this recipe, since we won't have to cut them.
First of all, we will have to roll out the puff pastry plate on a flat, floured surface. Then we will cut strips about 2 cm thick.
Also, if you choose the package sausages option, you must cut into 3 portions, and then roll them into the puff pastry strips that we have cut before, but not whole, only as long as you need.
Once your raincoats are on, we will place them on a baking sheet, with the part of the puff pastry joint facing down, in order to prevent it from opening. We will apply a little beaten egg to give it some color and we will bake them 180ºC for about 10-15 minutes and ready. I hope you like them!
