Roasted apples, a simple and healthy dessert
All the roasted apples They are a simple dessert that I learned to cook when I was just a child. I loved to collaborate in its preparation by adding sugar or honey; then I would stay glued to the oven door, watching the process, watching how the sugar bubbled and the skin was opening.
Today, I still make this recipe very often; When I turn on the oven for some other preparation, I use it later to roast apples. I always use pippin apples, but you can try some other variety of sweet apple. The fruit desserts They are very healthy and this, you have no excuse not to do it because of its simplicity. And if you like the classics, try cooking too, Pears in wine.
Ingredients
- Pippin apples
- Brown sugar
- Butter
- Cinnamon
- Water
Crafting
We wash the apples and with a small knife we remove the upper part, that of the tail, creating a small hole.
We place them in a baking dish; if they did not seat well, we would even the bottom with a knife. We fill in the gaps with a walnut butter and brown sugar mixed with cinnamon powder.
We add water to the source and we put in the oven about 30 minutes at 190-200º. Halfway through cooking we sprinkle with sugar again and water with its own juice. The apples will be ready when the skin wrinkles and opens and we check by pricking that they are tender.
You can eat them warm or wait for them to cool down, as you prefer.
Notes
- You can use instead of water, brandy or sweet wine to cook them.
- The baking time is approximate, it depends on the size and hardness of the apples.
