Few recipes are as simple as provoleta. But, let's start at the beginning, before we get down to business. «Provoleta» is a trademark of «Provolone cheese Argentine yarn ». A fatty cheese that is usually prepared roasted in the oven or grilled and that has inspired many recipes.
One of them is provoleta, a slice of provolone cheese baked with herbs aromatic and olive oil, to which many also incorporate tomato sauce in order to give it greater flavor. This last version is the one we prepare today, also adding some cherry tomatoes to decorate. You can accompany it with a few toasts of bread and taste it in dip mode.
- 2-3 tablespoons tomato sauce
- A slice of provolone cheese
- oregano
- Black pepper
- A splash of olive oil
- 3-4 cherry tomatoes
- We cover the base of a clay pot or other oven-safe container (and adjusted to the size of the provolone), with two tablespoons of tomato sauce.
- We place the cheese slice and we put some herbs and pepper in it.
- We pour a splash of virgin olive oil and decorate with some cherrys.
- We take to the oven preheated to 200 ° C for 15-20 minutes.
- We serve immediately with some toasts of bread.
