During the weekend I like to prepare a cake to end the week with a sweet bite. East orange cake with chocolate chips was the last I've ever baked and I have no doubt I'll be baking again very soon. It is a simple, tasty and fluffy cake; perfect for breakfast or a snack.
Doing so does not involve any difficulty. You will stain a single bowl and in 20 minutes you will have the dough prepared and ready to take to the oven. If you want serve it as dessertYou can put a dark chocolate coating on it but we can assure you that it is not necessary to enjoy it. Do you dare to prepare it?
- 250 g. egg
- 225 g. of sugar
- A pinch of fine salt
- 200 g. butter at room temperature
- 250 g. whey (235 g. of milk + 15 g. of lemon juice)
- Zest of two oranges
- 375 g. all-purpose flour
- 15 g. baking yeast, an envelope
- 100 g. chocolate chips
- We prepare the serum of milk adding 15 g. of lemon juice to 235 g. milk. We stir and let it rest 15 minutes before using.
- We turn the oven to 180º and grease the mold or molds with butter.
- We beat the eggs, salt and sugar for 10 minutes until white.
- Then we add the butter and beat until integrated.
- We incorporate the serum of milk and the orange zest and beat at low speed until a homogeneous dough is obtained.
- Little by little, we add the flour and mix with a spatula to integrate it.
- Finally, we add the chocolate chips and mix.
- We pour the dough into the molds and hwe bake for about 50 minutes if we do it in a single large mold; until the cake is done.
- Remove from the oven, unmold after 10 minutes and Let cool on a rack.
