One of the habits that every good mother tries to instill in her children from a very young age is not to throw away food, and therefore, to know how to value a plate of this every day. I don't have children yet, but in my house there has always been enormous respect for this and that is what our recipe today is about: making the most of the food we make. Do you know what it is "old clothes" in food? In Spain, I don't know if in other parts of the world it is also called that, the leftover meat from the pot or cooked is completely shredded and mixed. The result of this is called old clothes. It can be cooked in many ways, but in our case we have made some rich spaghetti with old clothes.
If you want to know how to do it, keep reading the rest of the recipe, and don't waste food!
- Chicken meat
- Veal
- Ham
- Spaghetti
- Fried tomato
- Pepper
- Onion
- Oregano
- Sal Island
- Olive oil
- Water
- In a large pot, boil plenty of water with a splash of olive oil and salt, to cook the spaghetti. Our recipe is for 4 people, so play around with the amounts of everything according to the diners who sit at your table.
- While the water boils, in a frying pan we will add olive oil, and we will put it to heat. We will peel and julienne a small whole onion. Sauté and then add the pepper, also washed and cut into small pieces. We fry everything and then we add the leftover meat from the pot, our "old clothes".
- We crumble well both the chicken meat and the veal. We also add the leftover ham, also in small strips. We mix together with the onion and the pepper.
- When it is ready, we add a pot and a half of fried tomato and add oregano and another pinch of salt.
- Meanwhile, we will boil the spaghetti and leave them to our liking. We drain when they are done and mix with the old clothes and the tomato. And ready! Rich, tasty and inexpensive dish.
