«It is difficult not to sin and stop eating something sweet and delicious, especially if it falls on the weekend ...». That's what I was thinking this past Sunday while I had these delicious custard with cookies and cream. But they fell, whole and I can attest that they were delicious.

Ingredients
  • 500 ml of semi-skimmed milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 small vanilla bean
  • 1 piece of lemon rind
  • Yolks 3
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • Maria cookies
  • Liquid candy
  • Whipped cream

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, pour the milk and add the cinnamon stick together with the vanilla bean (open) and the piece of lemon rind (it can also be used as an orange). We will let heat until boiling, and when this happens, we will set aside and let rest for 15 minutes. Later we will strain it.
  2. Meanwhile in a bowl, we will take the Yolks 3 along with the sugar, and we will be stirring with the help of a rod. Later, we will take the cornstarch, we will move again and the last thing will be add the milk (that has rested 15 minutes) slowly and without stopping to stir. In this way we will achieve a homogeneous texture.
  3. The mixture that we get we will put it to heat in a saucepan, over medium heat and not we will stop removing. This way we will get it to thicken. When it has thickened to our liking, we will set aside.
  4. For the presentation, we will chop up some Maria cookies on a plate and add liquid caramel. We will pour the custard on them and let it cool.
  5. They are ready to eat and taste!

Notes
As a last detail, once our custards are cold, we can add a little whipped cream and liquid caramel on top.
