Mustard chicken

In the kitchen it is difficult to make an original recipe, the only thing we can do is give it our personal touch. Today we are going to prepare chicken breasts with mustard cream, which we will call mustard chicken. Although this recipe occurred to me one day when a certain Nico appeared at dinner without prior notice, and it was a very popular dish, since then this preparation has been called at home Chicken Nico. With this anecdote you will have realized that our mustard chicken Today is simple and quick to make.

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Ingredients (for 4 people)

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 can of mushrooms
  • 200g fresh cream
  • 2 tablespoons sweet mustard
  • parsley, salt and pepper

Preparation

Cut the breasts lengthwise into three or four pieces, depending on the size of each one. We salt them and then we put them to brown in olive oil.

When we check that they are almost cooked and golden, we add the mushrooms, and continue cooking until the chicken is ready.

Then we add the cream, the mustard and season with salt and pepper to taste. We stir carefully until all the preparation has heated up.

We only need to garnish with chopped parsley to add color to the dish.

If you prefer, I can suggest another way to present your dish. For that, before adding the cream and the other ingredients, you can set the cooked chicken aside on a plate. Add the mushrooms, cream and mustard to the cooking bottom and stir them over the fire. When it's time to serve, you put the chicken on the plate and pour a little sauce on top. This presentation is likely to be better to look at, but you will need to have kept the chicken warm before assembling the dish.

Today being my birthday we are going to accompany it with a glass of cava, semi sec, as I like it. No problem if you prefer to toast with extra brut cava, I even think they make a better pairing. It is essential that it is fresh and with many bubbles.

I love everything that has canned mushrooms. I'm just cooking meatballs with mushrooms in tomato sauce to accompany ricotta ravioli.
