** Extra note: Some readers have asked me about vegan recipes so if the recipe is already vegan then ready, but if not at the end of each recipe you can find a suggestion vegetarian and a vegan I hope it can be of use to you!

You already have the filling ready, reserve it to cool while you prepare the . In a bowl, mix the flour, the salt, the oil and add the water little by little until you obtain a dough that is easy to handle, does not stick to your hands and you can easily make a ball with it.

Now separate balls of the size you prefer, depending on the size you want for the empanadillas. I made 10 balls.

Now if you have this cute little gadget that it is used to make great dumplings, if not, take a plate and stretch one of the balls you have made into it, put the filling almost in the center and close the dough. To seal the edges so that the patty does not open, you can use a fork. Place it on the lightly greased baking tray (or covered with parchment paper) and repeat the operation until you finish with all the balls. Finally, paint the dumplings with the beaten egg and bake them until they turn golden.

When serving ...

I served them as is but if you want to give it a curious touch you can put them in a circle on the plate and put salad in the center, for example.

Recipe suggestions:

  • Minced meat can be substituted for tuna.
  • You can add more ingredients, whether you make them from minced meat or if you make them from tuna, for example carrots, mushrooms, pepper...

Vegetarian suggestion: Fill them with spinach, goat cheese and pine nuts. Irresistible!

Vegan suggestion: Eliminate the egg from painting the dough and fill them with caramelized onion, mushrooms and a touch of herbs to taste, for example Provencal herbs.

  • Another option is to fry the dumplings, in that case it is not necessary to paint them with egg.

The best…

You already have the dough that would be the main thing in the recipe, then the filling can vary to the taste and imagination of each one. 1 dough = endless recipes!

Bon appetit!
