Meatballs with peas and carrots

Meatballs with peas

Meatballs are a classic in any home, they are usually cooked by our grandmothers and children especially like them very much, especially if they have tomatoes! It is a dish that does not fail in the day to day and that helps us to have a balanced lunch or dinner, since it combines perfectly with vegetables and even, for the most delicate, we can hide them.

The recipe for meatballs with peas and carrots that I bring you today is very simple, at home we love it and even my two-year-old son flocks the plate with bread. At the end of the recipe I leave you some suggestions to hide the vegetables in case it is difficult for your little one to eat them.

Ingredients

  • 500 gr of minced meat
  • A can of peas
  • Carrots 3
  • 1 hoja de laurel
  • Olive oil
  • Sal Island
  • Pepper
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • Half a small tomato can

Crafting

In a frying pan we are going to add two tablespoons of olive oil and when it is hot we will cook the garlic cloves cut into sheets a little, taking care that they do not burn. Salt and pepper the meat, mix well and form the meatballs, which we are going to add to the pan and cook until they are golden brown. Add a cup of water, salt, pepper, bay leaf and carrots cut into slices. Cover the pan and simmer until the carrot is done.

When we have it ready we add the peas and the tomato, cook a few more minutes (until the sauce reduces to our liking), correct the salt if necessary and that's it.

Suggestions

  • If it is difficult for your child to consume vegetables, try grating carrot or zucchini and mixing it with the minced meat. When forming the meatballs and cooking them you will not notice it.
  • For a balanced lunch or dinner, accompany this dish with potatoes or rice.
