Today we prepare in Kitchen Recipes a very simple recipe, some macaroni with tomato sauce and cheese. A dish with a great creaminess that almost everyone likes and from which there is rarely anything left over at home. The ingredients to make them, it is likely, that you already have them at home.
Onion, pepper, tomato and cheese are the main ingredients to prepare this sauce. I have used a basic cream cheese but you can always try other types of cheeses that melt well if you want to give it more flavor. The trick is to know balance the flavor so that the cheese does not hide the rest of the flavors. Shall we start cooking?
- 160 g. macaroni
- 1 large onion, minced
- 2 small green bell peppers, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, minced
- 220 gr. crushed tomato
- 2 generous tablespoons cream cheese
- Black pepper
- Oregano
- Sal Island
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Poach the onion in a large skillet with a little oil for 5 minutes.
- Then add the peppers and we continue cooking 8 more minutes
- Meanwhile, in a small casserole let's cook the macaroni following the manufacturer's instructions.
- We incorporate the tomato to the pan and when it starts to bubble, add the cheese. We stir with a spatula until it has dissolved.
- Season and add oregano or other herbs to the tomato and cheese sauce.
- Once the macaroni is cooked, we drain them well and add to the pan. Then we mix so that they are well impregnated with the sauce.
- We serve the macaroni with hot tomato sauce and cheese.
