Macaroni with tuna and homemade tomato sauce

Macaroni with tuna and homemade tomato sauce

It is really difficult to find children who do not like pasta. However, on the other hand, it is quite common to find children who do not like vegetables or fish. This recipe is specially designed for them, since on the one hand we have incorporated tuna (canned) and we have prepared our own homemade tomato sauce with ripe tomato, much healthier and rich in properties than those that we can find in supermarkets and stores.

In this way, children will be delighted to enjoy one of their favorite dishes, and adults will rest easy knowing that they are eating so much proteins as carbohydrates in a healthier way.

Ingredients
For the pasta
  • 500 grams of macaroni (it can be any other type of pasta)
  • Olive oil
  • Water
  • Sal Island
For the sauce
  • 3 large ripe tomatoes
  • ½ onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • ½ green pepper
  • Sugar
  • Oregano
  • Sal Island

Preparation
  1. In a pot, boil water with a splash of olive oil and salt. When it starts to boil, we add our pasta, in this case, macaroni. And we let it be done for about 8-10 minutes. We stir from time to time so that they do not stick.
  2. Meanwhile, in a frying pan we are going to prepare the homemade tomato sauce. To do this, we add olive oil and wait for it to warm. Following, we fry all the vegetables: half an onion, peeled and cut into very thin slices, the two cloves of garlic into very small cubes and the green pepper also very thinly sliced. When this vegetable is sautéed, we will add the tomato, previously peeled and cut into cubes. We stir well, add a little sugar to prevent the sauce from being very acidic for the flavor of the tomato and a little oregano and salt. We leave over medium heat for about 10 minutes. The last step will be beat the mixture very well so that our children do not take pieces of vegetables.
  3. And ready! In our case we have plated the macaroni together with the sauce and on top we have added the tuna, but you can also mix everything beforehand.
