On another occasion I told you about the wonders that can be made with a package of brick or filo dough, both sweet and salty. This time I bring you a very simple sweet recipe that you can prepare in a moment and you can also enjoy it without fear, since the caloric intake is much lower than a piece of ordinary apple pie, but the flavor is equally rich.

The result of these apple cakes is a crunchy dessert with a juicy interior that we can take hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or cream (for example) or cold without any accompaniment, as a dessert after lunch or a special dinner, or simply in the snack. As you like it the most!

Ingredients

  • 3 apples
  • A nut of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 10 sheets of brick or filo dough
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • 1 beaten egg
  • Icing sugar to decorate

Crafting

In a frying pan we melt the butter and add the peeled and diced apples. Add the cinnamon and sugar, mix well and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. The apple should be soft, but without falling apart. When we have the apple ready, let it cool.

Once we have the cold filling, we are going to make our cupcakes. To do this, we open the sheets of brick dough, on each sheet we are going to place two or three tablespoons of filling, we will place them a little below. Then we start folding the bottom, then the sides and roll up. We fix the edge by brushing with a little beaten egg. We repeat the process until we finish with all the filling.

When we have all the rolls done, we will only have to fry them in abundant oil or paint them with egg and bake them on both sides until they are golden brown. Of course the second option provides fewer calories. When we have them golden brown and they have cooled, sprinkle them with icing sugar and that's it.
