Light potato omelette, a healthy option

Light potato omelette

The potato omelette, one of those dishes so typical in Spain and that we love, but when we have to diet we cannot enjoy it because of the amount of calories it contains. What do you think if we make an omelette in which each piece is only going to have 43 calories? Sounds good right?

Well yes, what I bring you today is a way to make the Spanish omelette a low calorie dish that you can enjoy without problems even on a diet, accompanied by a good salad it can be the perfect lunch of any day, if you have one for dessert. piece of fruit you will have a balanced and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 300 gr of potatoes
  • 1 cebolla
  • Sal Island

Crafting

The first thing we will do is peel the potatoes, cut them into slices and boil them in unsalted water together with the finely chopped onion (or julienne if you prefer). Another option is to steam the potatoes. On the other hand we beat the eggs, add salt to taste and, when we have the potatoes and onion done, we add them. We mix well.

We preheat the oven and while we are going to line a mold with baking paper. I used the classic long cake mold, but you can use a round one, individual molds or whatever you like. The only thing I advise you is not to use a removable mold because the egg will most likely come out.

Once we have our mold lined we introduce the mixture of potatoes and egg and we are going to bake for half an hour more or less at 170ºC. Depending on the size of your mold it may take more or less, so I advise you to prick with a knife or a wooden stick, if it comes out clean it is already done. If you see that it is browning on the top and it still has inside, you can cover it with aluminum foil.

Bon appetit!

Note

The complete tortilla has 350 calories, to know the caloric intake per serving I have divided it into eight pieces, which would be very large pieces.

Very tasty, I make something similar and I cook it in a thermal porcelain mold and I put vegetable spray on it and nothing sticks. Of course, I put fewer eggs or quail for a person.
    Thank you
