Making homemade tomato sauce at home is something that is really worth it. Many brands sell us homemade recipes, grandmother's recipes ... but it has nothing to do with a good tomato sauce made at home with patience and good ingredients. It is also a product widely consumed at home, for pasta and rice, for a ratatouille, to make a pizza ... the profits are enormous and we will be happy to know that we have it in our pantry.

Today we show you how to make a basic homemade tomato sauce, we only use tomatoes, so we do not condition the sauce when using it but if we prefer we can add garlic, onion or aromatic herbs to give it the touch that we like. The important thing is to dare to do it and little by little we will find the formula that best suits our needs.

Ingredients
  • 2 kg of ripe tomatoes
  • 100 ml olive oil
  • sugar
  • shawl

Preparation
  1. We start by removing the skin from the tomatoes, for this the best thing to do is blanch. The first thing is to make two cuts to the tomato in the shape of a cross. Now in a saucepan with boiling water we are putting them for a few seconds. We take them out and put them in very cold water to stop cooking. You will see that this way the skin comes out wonderfully.
  2. We continue, now we chop them and put them in a large pot, we take advantage of all the juice they release.
  3. We add a good splash of olive oil and a good pinch of salt.
  4. We start to cook over high heat and stir well to distribute the oil.
  5. When a few minutes pass we lower the heat to medium-low and let the tomato cook slowly, without haste.
  6. The cooking time will depend on the water in the tomatoes, but no one takes one hour from us.
  7. When we have the fried tomato sauce ready, we will taste salt and add sugar if it is very acidic.
  8. Now we can do two things, or grind with a blender and then strain or pass it through a Chinese and thus remove the seeds and obtain a fine tomato sauce. That to your choice.
  9. You can now enjoy an authentic 100% homemade tomato sauce
