Ingredients
  • 100 gr. chopped ham
  • 1 cebolla
  • 50 gr. Of flour
  • 50 gr. of butter
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 500 ml. milk
  • Nutmeg
  • Sal Island
  • 2 eggs
  • Bread crumbs
  • Frying oil

Preparation
  1. To prepare the homemade ham croquettes, we will start by chopping the very small onion. We put a pan that is a bit wide and put the butter and the 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil, add the chopped onion over medium heat and let the onion brown, when the onion is there we will put the very chopped ham.
  2. We remove the onion and the ham and add the flour, stir and cook the flour for a couple of minutes so that it cooks and does not have a raw flavor.
  3. Add the milk, we will not stop stirring until we have a creamy dough without lumps. We will add a little nutmeg and a pinch of salt, we try since the ham already has salt. If necessary we will put more milk. The dough has to be detached from the pan.
  4. We place the dough in a bowl, let it cool down and put it in the fridge for a couple of hours or overnight. To form the croquettes, put the breadcrumbs in a bowl and the beaten eggs in another.
  5. We will form the croquettes, take pieces of dough, form balls and pass them through the egg and then through the breadcrumbs.
  6. We fry the croquettes, put a pan with plenty of oil, put it over medium heat and when it is hot we will fry the croquettes in batches.
  7. We take a plate that we will have with kitchen paper, we will put them as they are so that they release the excess oil.
  8. And ready to eat !!!
