We are going to prepare a Homemade sponge cake, a classic of our kitchen, there is nothing better for breakfast or a snack. This cake is a recipe that I saw on television, it was prepared by a little nun, so I wrote down the ingredients and I prepared it, it was a success, it is very good, tender and juicy. At home we call it the nuns' cake.
It is a very simple cake, with ingredients that we have at home. It is very good as is but it can be covered with a good layer of melted chocolate, cream, jam ...
You can also cut it in half and fill it with whatever you like the most. It only remains to keep it in a can so that it can hold up for several days.
- 4 eggs
- 2 glasses of sugar
- 1 glass of milk
- 1 glass of sunflower oil
- 3 glasses of pastry flour
- Lemon zest
- 1 sachet of backing powder
- Powdered sugar
- The first thing is to put the oven at 180ºC so that it warms up.
- We prepare the cake. We spread a mold with a little butter and flour. While in a bowl we put the eggs with the sugar, beat them well until they turn white.
- We will continue with the other ingredients in which we will use a large glass of water as a measure for all the ingredients, first we will add the milk and beat, the oil, the lemon zest and we will finish by adding the sifted flour together with the yeast.
- We will put all the dough in the mold and we will introduce it in the oven that is already hot, we lower it to 160º C, we will leave it for about 45 minutes depending on the oven.
- Once out of the oven we let it cool down and sprinkle it with icing sugar
