Taking advantage of the tomato season we have prepared at home both tomato sauce and tomato jelly taking advantage of the most mature pieces. The latter can be used as an accompaniment to red meats and all kinds of cheese preparations like this one that I propose to you today.
La goat cheese toast And tomato jam is very simple and makes a perfect starter. You can also serve it as part of an informal snacking dinner - almost everyone likes it! Preparing them will take you five minutes as long as you have prepared the jam in advance.
And how do you prepare tomato jam? Like all jams, I cook the tomato with sugar. Doing so will be very easy but you will have to dedicate an hour of your time. In return you will have a great jam for your toasts, cakes or meats. Do you dare to prepare it?
The recipe
- 6 slices of bread
- 12 slices of goat cheese
- 6 teaspoons tomato jam
- 1 kilo of ripe tomatoes
- White sugar.
- The juice of ½ lemon
- We put a saucepan on the fire with water and bring to a boil.
- Meanwhile, we wash the tomatoes and we make a cut at the base in the shape of a cross.
- When the water is boiling, add the tomatoes and once the water returns to a boil, the blanch for 4 minutes.
- Afterwards, we drain them and let them warm up to peel and chop them a fine knife.
- We weigh the tomato and we put it in a casserole. Add to it half the weight of the tomatoes in sugar and the juice of half a lemon.
- Mix, light the fire and bring to a boil. Once it boils, we lower the heat and cook for about 40-45 minutes or until the desired thickness is achieved. Keep in mind that when it cools it will thicken.
- Once done and still hot, we keep it in a glass container. We can crush it first to make it finer or not, according to taste.
- To prepare the toast, we toast the bread slices and heat the grilled cheese.
- We place two slices of cheese on the bread and on this the jam that we will have already cold.
