All the ginger cookies they are a classic at Christmas. Sweet, tender and spicy, they are simple to prepare and can give us a lot of play both at the table and on our Christmas tree. And the best thing is that we can spend a very entertaining afternoon preparing and decorating them.
If you have little ones at home bake and decorate gingerbread cookies is a great proposal to prevent them from getting bored. You can decorate them with a simple vanilla cream and colored chocolate balls, playing with your creativity. But also taste them after sprinkling them with icing sugar.
- 350g flour
- 125g creamy butter
- 100g sugar
- 100g of cane honey or molasses

- ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- To decorate:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 2-3 tablespoons of milk
- We sift the flour along with the rest of the dry ingredients.
- We beat in a bowl butter with brown sugar until mixture is white. Mix the rest of the ingredients one by one until it can be formed a compact ball. If after mixing the ball crumbles, you can add a tablespoon of milk.
- We divide the dough In two or three parts and with the help of a rolling pin, we spread the dough between two baking papers until it is approximately 6 mm thick. * If the dough is very soft, you can refrigerate it for 10 minutes and then stretch it.
- We cut the dolls With the cutter, we place them on the lined baking tray and put them in the fridge for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180ºC with heat up and down.
- After time, we took the dolls out of the fridge and we put in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
- We take them out of the oven and let them cool on the tray. Later the we transferred to a grid to cool completely.
