Do you like green peas? They are normally part of one of those very important foods in our diet (due to their high content of folic acid), but that very few of us like ... Almost accidentally we add them in Rice dishes or other preparations, but today I am going to propose an option in which they gain a little more prominence: Garlic peas.
Degree of difficulty: Very easy
Preparation time: 10 minutes (if you have the peas already boiled or from the pot)
Ingredients for 2 people:
- 1 bottle of green peas (you can use them fresh, but you will have to boil them first)
- 3 teeth of Garlic it
- Sal Island
- Olive oil
In a frying pan, heat the olive oil and add the sliced garlic. Let them simmer for a few minutes and add the peas along with the salt and pepper.
Continue cooking for a few more minutes and you're done.
When serving ...
You can serve it as Garrison de meat o Fish and even next to a mashed potatoes, for a light dinner.
Instead of just using peas, try adding more vegetables cut into small pieces like carrots, green beans, mushrooms… You will get a very complete and delicious garnish.
Instead of using canned peas you can opt for fresh ones, in that case when you buy them boil them and, once they have cooled, store them in the freezer. When you need them you will simply have to defrost, cook and that's it!
