At home we are used to always having frozen seafood. We generally use them to prepare rice or potato stews; but also as protagonists of certain dishes. This is the case in the recipe that we encourage you to prepare today: cuttlefish with onions with paprika.
Having a tray of frozen cuttlefish or squid rings in the freezer allows you to prepare a dinner in a few minutes. 20 minutes, it won't take you any longer to have this cuttlefish dish with paprika onion ready. A simple dish that you can combine with a little rice to achieve a complete plate.
There are no big claims behind this dish. It can be improved in many ways, but speed and simplicity are things that are appreciated at certain times. Combining cuttlefish and onion is always a success and the paprika gives it a very personal touch. At home we love it, but you could also try with other spices.
The recipe
- 350 grams of clean frozen cuttlefish
- 1 medium white onion
- ½ Italian green pepper
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Sal Island
- Black pepper
- Paprika
- Hot paprika
- We put 3 tablespoons of oil in a pan and poach the onion julienne for 5 minutes.
- After, we add the chopped pepper and we poach the whole for five more minutes.
- Now, we incorporate the cuttlefish seasoned in chunks and fry until tender. Pay attention because if you spend time they will stay chewy and you will have to cook them longer until they have a pleasant texture again.
- Once done and out of the fire we correct the point of salt and we add sweet paprika and hot paprika to taste.
- Mix the whole and serve the cuttlefish with hot onion.
