Cream cheese flan

Cream cheese flan

We start the weekend by preparing a sweet treat. A cream cheese flan very simple that will become a great ally when we have guests at home. Why? Because it is very simple to prepare and we can leave it done the day before to enjoy our guests.

We can do it in a large dish, in a flan or in individual containers. The last option is more elegant than the previous ones; We will only need to put some red fruits and some sprigs of mint on the flan to conquer the diners. Do you dare to prepare it?

Ingredients
  • 2 M eggs at room temperature
  • 2 egg whites at room temperature
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups of milk at room temperature
  • ¼ cup cream cheese at room temperature
For the candy
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of water

Preparation
  1. We start by preparing the caramel. To do this we put the sugar and water in a saucepan and without stirring we let the sugar dissolve with the heat. From there the caramel will begin to bubble and darken. During this process we move the pan from time to time. When the caramel is golden, we remove it from the heat.
  2. We pour the caramel in the mold or in the molds and we move these so that it is evenly distributed throughout the base. We let it rest while we prepare the flan.
  3. We preheat the oven to 190ºC.
  4. In a bowl we beat the cream cheese and sugar with a whisk until well combined.
  5. Then we add the eggs and the egg whites and beat again.
  6. Add the vanilla and beat a little more.
  7. We heat the milk and before it boils, we pour a ladle into the egg mixture. We beat quickly to avoid cooking the eggs. Next, we pour the rest of the milk while we beat
  8. We distribute the mixture in the different molds and place them in a pan with boiling water to bake them in a bain-marie. The water should reach approximately halfway up the molds.
  9. We bake in the center from the oven for 75 min or until the flan has set.
  10. Remove from the oven and let them cool down. once cold we reserve in the fridge for at least four hours.
