Cooked cabbage

Although we are having a totally atypical winter in Spain (little cold, little rain, etc.), we always feel like taking a warm spoonful dish. That is why I bring you this cooked cabbage, which has been my meal just today. It was great!

Next, I leave you all the ingredients you will need to make it as delicious as this one; as well as the step by step of its elaboration. By the way, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Cooked cabbage
This cabbage stew is a traditional dish in Spain. In my house it was learned from generation to generation, so so that good customs are not lost, we will continue to do so.

Ingredients
  • 1 piece of old bacon
  • 1 piece of fresh bacon
  • Pig's ear and tail
  • 1 sausage
  • 1 piece of lean meat
  • 500 grams of chickpeas
  • ½ cabbage
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • 2 garlic
  • Cumin
  • Sal Island
  • Water

Preparation
  1. In an express pot we are adding all the necessary ingredients to make this cooked cabbage. We add everything related to the smeared with this cooked: pork ear and tail, the piece of lean, the two pieces of bacon (old and fresh) and finally the chickpeas. The chickpeas will be left in water overnight, so that it does not take so long to make them.
  2. We add water to fill the pot leaving about ¾ fingers free and finally we add a little salt and a chicken bouillon cube. We cover and leave the fire for a few 25 minutes.
  3. After 25 minutes, we remove from the heat, open the pot and remove all the mess that will have finished cooking. We put it aside on a flat plate. To the broth with chickpeas that we have made we add 2 garlic previously peeled and crushed in a mortar with some cumin, the half cabbage and chorizo. We cover again and let it cook for about 10 minutes. Cabbage doesn't need much cooking.
  4. Once the time has passed, we remove it from the heat again and we will have a rich and nutritious cabbage stew ready to eat. We hope you like it!
