All the French toast They are a typical dessert of eastern that everyone knows and has ever eaten. And they are so good that I do not know why we waited a year to prepare them ... but hey, it is that by that rule of 3 we would say the same as the roscón de reyes, the nougats, the Easter monas ... and we would not stop eating.

Today we are going to show you how to make classic torrijas, the ones you have ever seen. Of course, we anticipate that in a couple of days we will curl the curl with these French toast, so go practicing.

Ingredients
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 loaf of special torrijas bread
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • olive oil

Preparation
  1. We start by infusing the milk, for this we put it in a saucepan with the cinnamon stick and the lemon peel (we will avoid the white part because it is bitter). Cook one 5 ′.
  2. After time we add half the sugar, 100gr, and dissolve. We strain the milk and reserve it.
  3. On the other hand we cut the loaf of bread into thick slices, about 2cm.
  4. We beat the eggs in a deep dish.
  5. In another plate we put the rest of the sugar, 100gr plus the cinnamon powder.
  6. We put the pan with mild olive oil to heat
  7. We have everything prepared, now we begin.
  8. We take the slices of bread, we are putting them in the infused milk and we wet them on both sides. To know if the slices are soaked enough we let them rest on a plate, if they do not release anything at all, it means that they still admit more milk.
  9. Then we put them in the egg, which covers all the bread well, then in the pan with the hot oil. We turn them so that they brown on all sides.
  10. As we take them out of the oil we put them on paper so that it absorbs the excess oil and from there quickly to the sugar to coat them
  11. And so on until all the bread is finished. I did it in batches of 4 by 4, which is what I can fit in the pan and it took almost nothing. So cheer up with those French toast !!
