Ingredients
  • 55 grams of chopped dark chocolate
  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 8 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of buttermilk (250ml of milk + 1 tablespoon of lemon juice)
  • 12 dried figs
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Preparation
  1. For prepare the buttermilk Mix the milk with the lemon juice in a cup. Once mixed, let it rest for 15 minutes without moving.
  2. Time passed we preheat the oven at 190ºC and place paper capsules in the metal muffin molds.
  3. In a bowl we mix the flour and the baking soda and in another, we melt the chocolate in a water bath or with small microwave strokes. We booked both.
  4. In a large bowl or food processor we beat the butter until creamy.
  5. Then we add the egg, the brown sugar, the vanilla and the chocolate one by one, beating after each addition until integrated.
  6. We incorporate the flour mixture and the bicarbonate in three batches alternating it with the buttermilk.
  7. Finally, we add the dried figs chopped and half of the chocolate chips and mix.
  8. We fill the molds with the dough and decorate with the remaining chips.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  10. Then, we remove from the oven and let the chocolate muffins rest on a rack to cool completely.
