We started the weekend by preparing a simple recipe, a cauliflower and apple cream that I hope you will add to your weekly menu this week. Because like all creams it is very grateful; you can prepare it on Sunday and thus have a great resource for complete your meals and dinners during three days.
I have prepared four servings, but you only have to double the amounts if you want it to spread a little more. The ingredients are simple: onion, leek, cauliflower, apple and some seasonings for flavor. Don't be surprised by the combination of cauliflower and apple, it's a fantastic combination. Cauliflower works great with both apple and pear.
Prepare this cream is very simple, you just have to worry about sauté all the ingredients well until they turn a nice golden color before adding the water. That way you will be enhancing the flavor of the cream. Do you dare to prepare it with me? You can also try other combinations that we have prepared before such as cauliflower with carrot or turnip. Cheer up!
The recipe
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 cebolla
- 1 leek
- 1 small cauliflower
- Manzana 1
- Sal Island
- Black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon nutritional yeast
- We put the two tablespoons of oil to heat in a casserole.
- Add the onion roughly chopped and the leek into four pieces and sauté for two or three minutes.
- Then add the cauliflower in small florets and fry until it takes on a nice golden color.
- Then, we add the apple and sauté a couple more minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper, add the turmeric and nutritional yeast and We "cover" with water or vegetable broth. Personally, I always let the water be a finger under the vegetables; It is the way that I get a thick cream.
- We cover, cook for 15-20 minutes and then we grind.
- We serve the cauliflower and apple cream hot.
