Caramelized onion sauce and raisins
What I bring you today is nothing more than an invention of mine, but after seeing the success it has had, I am very sure that it will stay with us forever. We not only loved its taste, but also the salsa It is very light, creamy and, with the suggestion that I show you at the end, you can have a great lunch in no time.
Degree of difficulty: Easy
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Ingredients for about half a liter of sauce:
- 2 onions
- A bunch of raisins
- Sal Island
- Pepper
- Half a teaspoon of sugar
- A bit of flour
- Olive oil
Preparation:
Heat a little olive oil and add the julienned onions, salt, pepper, sugar and raisins. Cover and cook over low heat.
Stir from time to time so that the onion does not burn and reaches the point of caramelization.
When it is caramelized add water (I added a cup for breakfast) and let it boil for a few minutes.
Finally, pass everything through the blender along with a little flour (it is recommended that you add little by little until you achieve the desired thickness). You can reserve some onion and raisins to decorate later if you wish.
And nothing else, you already have caramelized onion sauce and raisins ready to enjoy.
When serving ...
In my case I used this sauce with some meatballs but it can still fit with a sirloin or even with a fish, the Mere It may be a good choice. And to complete the dish you can add a little rice boiled. All this combination, as you can see, is very simple, but it can create a luxurious dish for you.
Recipe suggestions:
- If you want to add more creaminess you can use cream de cook, taking into account that it will add more calories to the dish.
- Maybe if we also add pinions It might look good, but it's something I haven't tried.
- Vegetarian and vegan suggestion: In this case, the recipe is already vegan on its own, all you have to do is choose the right companion for it according to our type of diet and, in this case, I think it could combine very well with a good assortment of vegetables (aubergines, red and green peppers, mushrooms, etc), cut into large cubes and cooked on the grill. I love it!
The best…
- I always have ground meat already prepared in the freezer, in the form of meatballs or burger, so at any time I can turn to them. In this case I defrosted meatballs, baked them and added the sauce. In short: we got ourselves a homemade food and delicious in less than 30 minutes.
- You can prepare a lot of sauce and vacuum pack it, it will last 6 months and in just a few minutes you will have everything ready.
