Hello! Today I bring you a typical Italian recipe, some delicious calzones of ham, cheese and tomato. The calzones is nothing more than one pizza wrapped, and its ingredients can vary according to taste. In some towns in Italy, these calzones are usually sold in small portions to be served in small stalls as fast food.

I encourage you to make this recipe for calzones, I assure you that you will love it. It does not have any effort, just that you make the dough, it is only to add the ingredients and to the oven. What's more, the dough can be frozen if you have enough. 

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 250 g of flour.
  • 15 g pressed yeast.
  • 150 ml of warm water.
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • Pinch of salt.

For the filling:

  • 200 g of cooked ham.
  • 200 g of semi-cured cheese.
  • Eggs
  • Tomato.
  • bacon.
  • Oregano.

Preparation

First we do the . To do this, we will sift the flour and yeast in a large bowl. This is done so that the dough is thinner and looser. Add the water, salt and oil and knead for about 8 min, until you get a homogeneous dough that does not stick to your fingers. We will let this dough rest for 1h to increase its volume (fermentation).

While the dough is fermenting, we will go preparing the other ingredients. We will cut the York ham into small squares and the bacon into medium-fine strips. We will also cut the cheese wedges and tomato slices 1 cm thick. The ingredients can vary according to taste, you can also add olives, sausages, tuna or even minced meat.

When the rest time of the dough has passed, we will stretch it on a flat surface and place it in flats the ingredients. First we will place the york ham. On top of this, the cheese wedges and on top the tomato. Then the bacon strips and finally an egg and oregano.

Calzone filling

Finally, we will close right in the middle of the calzones, and we will take it to the oven for about 20 min at 200º C. For a perfect seal on the panties, moisten the edges with a little water and press well.
