Coleslaw, also known as American salad. This salad consists of finely chopped raw white cabbage and carrots.
Salads are a good starter or side, they can be made lighter or more complete and we can even prepare them as a single dish, adding protein to it. They are a good option for a dinner.
This coleslaw is ideal to start a meal, it is very good, the sauce it has is a mayonnaise that combines well with the cabbage. These salads are ideal for holidays.

Ingredients
- 1 white cabbage
- Carrots 2
- 1 cebolla
- Assorted chia seeds
- 1 creamy unsweetened yogurt
- 100 gr. mayonnaise
- ½ lemon juice
- Sal Island
- Pepper
Preparation
- To prepare the coleslaw, we will first wash the vegetables, cabbage and carrots.
- We will have the cabbage in a bowl cut into quarters covered with water and 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar, we will leave it for about 30 minutes.
- We rinse the cabbage well and cut it into thin strips. We put it in a serving bowl.
- We peel the carrot and grate it or cut it into strips. We add to the bowl.
- Peel the onion and cut into strips, add to the bowl. We mix everything well.
- We prepare the sauce.
- In a bowl we add the mayonnaise, the juice of ½ lemon, we add the creamy yogurt (we can add half), the assorted chia seeds (optional), a little salt and pepper. We mix everything until we have a sauce with a creamy texture.
- We add the sauce to the bowl where we have the vegetables, we mix very well so that all the ingredients are well integrated.
- We cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest in the fridge for one or two hours or until lunchtime.
